Sustainability at Vectron

At Dover Corporation, we believe that green business is good business.

Vectron International

A world leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of frequency control, sensor and hybrid product solutions, Vectron International has made a robust commitment to sustainable business practices. For 2007, 90% of Vectron’s revenue originated from the sale of products fully in compliance with European Union RoHS (Reduction of Hazardous Substances) criteria. Although this high level of compliance with RoHS standards is not mandatory, Vectron’s forward-looking approach strongly positions the company for growth.

Vectron is dedicated to continuously increasing the environmental sustainability of its products, operations and manufacturing. Vectron was the first frequency products manufacturer in the United States to be certified to the ISO 14001 standard in 1998. The company’s commitment to the environment includes the use of components that have lead-free solder alternatives.

Vectron’s Hudson facility has been an EPA Performance Track member since 2006. As a recognized environmental leader, Vectron has voluntarily undertaken an aggressive internal environmental initiative with the goal of reducing its greenhouse gas emissions 5% annually against the 2004 baseline year through improvements to facility HVAC systems and lighting efficiency upgrades. Thus far, the initiative has resulted in a 17% reduction in equivalent greenhouse gas emissions.

Vectron’s facility in Neckarbischofsheim Germany has made substantial improvements in its use of energy. The graph below illustrates that this facility has had a steady decline in kilowatts of electricity used to produce oscillators.
