Texas Hydraulics began in 1968 as a manufacturer of custom engineered hydraulic cylinders. Today, Texas Hydraulics designs, manufactures and sells welded hydraulic cylinders to leading OEM's throughout North America. Through their subsidiary, Precise Hard Chrome, they are also a leading supplier of chrome plated steel bar which is both consumed internally in the cylinder manufacturing operations and is sold through major distribution centers across the United States. In May 2000, Texas Hydraulics acquired Hydromotion, Inc., the leading manufacturer of Hydraulic Swivels.

Texas Hydraulics cylinder operations have gained a reputation of technical excellence in the welded hydraulic market. The company strategy of Finding and Fixing Problems allows the company to utilize this extensive technical expertise to generate real value for its OEM customers. Markets served include the Aerial Work Platform, the Aerial Utility Truck, Material Handling, Construction, and Mining Industries. The company has broad experience in material handling solutions including automotive lifts, forklifts, baggage handling equipment, and truck mounted cranes. The company provides hydraulic cylinders to very demanding industries such as Refuse & Construction where rugged applications require hydraulic cylinders that can withstand extremes of pressure, temperature, vibration, shock and contamination.

Hydromotion, established in 1971, is the leader in the design and manufacture of hydraulic swivels along with electric slip rings and telescopic waterways. A Swivel enables hydraulic fluid to be directed to an application enabling continuous 360 degree rotation. Hydromotion has strong positions in the aerial lift, hydraulic crane, and construction industries.

Texas Hydraulics has been owned by Dover since March 1988.
