Team members from Waukesha Bearings, a part of Dover Precision Components, recently participated in the “Cycle around Millport Challenge” to raise money for a local nonprofit organization, Calum’s Cabin. The team completed a 10-mile cycle ride around the island of Millport, Scotland.
Calum’s Cabin provides accommodations for families affected by childhood cancer. This organization enables families to spend quality time together, make memories, and recharge for what may lie ahead. They provide holiday facilities in multiple locations throughout Scotland, respite accommodations for those currently receiving treatment in Glasgow, and weekly mindfulness sessions to support parents and family members.
The team raised about $6,450, which will go towards maintaining the holiday homes, enabling families to have a safe and comfortable stay. With a matching contribution from the Dover Foundation, the total contribution was about $11,500.
