Governance

As a diversified global manufacturer and solutions provider, product safety is a core operational requirement for our business. Our approach is intended to meet applicable regulatory requirements, align with customer specifications and support consistent product performance.

Responsibility for product safety is embedded within our operating companies through established governance, defined roles and standardized processes. The principle of “quality at the source” is integrated into production and delivery workflows and reinforced through manufacturing and quality controls, supplier qualification requirements and documented operating procedures that outline standardized instructions for production, testing and quality assurance. Accountability for product outcomes resides with the teams responsible for each stage of the production process, with oversight mechanisms in place to promote consistent execution.

Policies

Dover’s approach to product and end-user safety is grounded in product quality, product design and responsible operational management. Given the varied quality and safety needs across our portfolio, product safety policies, procedures and controls are established at the operating company level. These operating company-specific programs reflect the unique requirements of each business, product portfolio and end market.

Actions and Initiatives

Site Documentation and Controls: Our sites follow standardized procedures and maintain structured documentation to support product safety and quality. Site personnel use build sheets throughout manufacturing and assembly processes to define required specifications, acceptance criteria and critical process steps. These documents incorporate checkpoints for both assembly and quality teams and require personnel sign-offs at key stages, supporting consistency, accountability and traceability in production. For example, Belvac uses a “check and verify” system requiring dual sign-off during equipment assembly. The system is supported by controlled documentation with role-based access, so that the appropriate personnel review the relevant steps and confirm components are built to specification.

Customer Engagement and Feedback Management: Dover operating companies collect customer feedback on product safety and quality through ongoing interactions, including direct customer communications. Customer feedback is reviewed through internal processes and, where appropriate, escalated to relevant functions for evaluation and response. Dover uses its Quality Management Tracking System ("QMTS") to log, track and manage nonconformance reports ("NCRs") and customer feedback ("CFB") reports, including customer complaints. NCRs and CFBs are reviewed to identify root causes and support corrective actions where needed. The QMTS uses designated reviewers and approvers, controlled access and standardized workflows to support consistent documentation, issue resolution and continuous improvement across sites.

Product Stewardship: Dover integrates product safety, quality and chemical stewardship considerations across the product lifecycle, including design, testing and post-market monitoring. Operating companies oversee product performance through risk assessments, audits and ongoing monitoring. They work to strengthen quality management systems and processes over time, including evaluating opportunities to reduce potential hazards and incorporating features that support safe operation and maintenance. In parallel, sites aim to eliminate hazardous chemicals from relevant products and processes by applying controls such as supplier engagement, risk-based assessments and regulatory compliance reviews. For example, Markem-Imaje works closely with its chemical suppliers to confirm EU Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals ("REACH") obligations are fulfilled.

International Organization for Standardization ("ISO") 9001: Our operating companies apply frameworks that reflect the needs of their respective industries, with many aligning to the ISO 9001 Quality Management standard. In 2025, 94 sites were certified to ISO 9001. This certification process assesses whether sites have defined processes and controls in place, meet customer requirements and operate in line with objectives set out in their quality manuals and operating procedures. Sites undergo periodic surveillance audits and management reviews to maintain certifications and confirm that their processes and systems continue to meet requirements.
